2014 Mission Trip Update

The mission trip team continues to plan and prepare for their sum-mer journey to Pine Ridge, SD, where they will be working and serving at one of the nation's largest Native American reservations. This past weekend the team went on a weekend retreat at the YMCA St. Croix, where they bonded, did a lot of team-building and of course, learning about servant leadership. Please continue to keep the team lifted in prayer that God will prepare their hearts and minds for service. If you are feeling led to monetarily support them, you can sow a financial seed into their ministry using the online giving tool on the church website. In whichever way you choose to support them, it is greatly appreciated!

2013 Mission Trip Reflections -- JaWan Brown

This past summer I had the amazing opportunity to attend the 2013 mission trip to Montego Bay, Jamaica. I learned so much about myself and also my personal faith in God. Building the house for drug abusers really impacted me, because I knew I was making a difference not only in Jamaica, but also to someone that will one day be in that house I built. When we had worship time, that was my personal time with God and for me to reflect on the reasons why I'm here, how much of a difference I could make, and growing in faith.

For this being my second mission trip, I truly believe that God has destined me to help others in the world no matter how big or small, as long as I'm making someone else's day, that's all that matters. The staff of the Next Step Ministries really made this trip one to remember. They helped us through the process of building the house, and leading us in worship time, so to them I say "Thank You!" None of this would be possible without God so all I can do is thank Him for this amazing opportunity!

"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."
